A native of Yorkshire, England, Dr. Wilson earned his medical degree from the University of Leicester and a degree in dental surgery from the University of Liverpool before training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Wilson was made a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons at the Royal College of Surgeons.
He then pursued training in general surgery and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh before specialising in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Wilson was named plastic and reconstructive surgery consultant of Bristol’s Frenchay Hospital in 2010.
As a specialist head and neck surgeon, Dr. Wilson is known for his expertise with oculoplastic surgery, as well as facial paralysis surgery, to help restore symmetry after facial palsy. Within the UK’s National Health Service, he is also the lead reconstructive surgeon for patients who have survived sarcoma. In addition to this intensely precise work, Dr. Wilson is exceptionally skilled at performing aesthetic procedures of the face, breast and body.
Dr. Wilson is on the United Kingdom’s General Medical Council (GMC) specialist register for plastic surgery. He is also a proud member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
When Dr. Wilson isn’t performing aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries in Bristol, he travels abroad for volunteer work, using his surgical expertise to help those in need. One of the organizations he works with is Facing Africa, a UK-registered charity dedicated to helping survivors of a noma, an infection that rapidly destroys soft tissues of the mouth, lips, and nose. Dr. Wilson regularly travels to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to help noma survivors by performing complex reconstructive facial surgery on children and adults. He also travels frequently to attend international aesthetics conferences and meet with other specialists in his field.
In his downtime, Dr. Wilson enjoys all that Bristol has to offer with his partner. He stays fit by cycling and kite surfing, and enjoys flying.

I would advise against this surgery if you are on life long apixaban. The risk is obviously bleeding and the secondary effects of stopping your apixaban for the condition it is prescribed for. You could contact your specialist who placed you on this drug to ask their opinion as to whether it is safe to stop the apixaban prior to surgery and for a period afterwards. If you do stop it, then it is likely that some form of heparin will be required during your hospital stay and...

Regarding closed rhinoplasty, this is possible but I would recommend an open rhinoplasty for the best results. You would need a significant reduction and reconstruction with cartilage grafts to support your nose and ensure that you can still breath after the operation. If there...
