It is my suggestion that if you have a desired weight in mind that you want to be, I suggest you be within at least 10-15 lbs of that before you proceed with surgery. This will give you optimal results and a more desirable look.

First of all- Congratulations on the weight loss and keeping it off.
This is a very good question and is one that comes up often during a consultation. I do suggest that if you have a desired goal weight and you are still progressively moving towards it that you would for sure want to wait until you are within 10 lbs or so. This will give you a more desirable outcome.

Age I say wouldn’t be the deciding factor on whether you should or shouldn’t have the surgery you want. If you are a healthy individual with no medical problems and your surgeon feels that you are a candidate for each of these procedures, then there is no reason that you shouldn’t go through with them. Its never to late to feel good about yourself and boost your self confidence. Good for you!

This questions all depends on the individual and the type of work they perform. Most all of my patients plan at least 1 week out of work after a mommy makeover. Enough time to rest and be able to take a moderate amount of pain medication and not have to worry about going anywhere. Dont blame the steristrips!!! Your are probably allergic to the skin glue causing the terrible rash requiring steroids and you are not dissolving the absorbable suture material. These procedures are my least favorites….they tend to flatten the front of the breast instead of giving it an esthetic cone shape. The larger implant will tend to stretch out the areola even wider. With a history of a septal hematoma, which is very rare, I would recommend against taking an aspirin-containing medicine, period. You may well have a preexisting clotting disorder like Von Willebrand”s Disease. Oxycodone 10 mg to 20 mg should eliminate the pain without causing bleeding. I prefer Maxalt (rizatriptan) for migraines.

After 34 years of reduction mammoplasties, I have not encountered bleeding from the nipple ducts post op. I can only surmise that a collection of blood inside the breast (hematoma) connected to the ducts to the nipple. This should be temporary and cause no long term problems.

Spider veins almost always take 2 or 3 treatments of scleral therapy for 80-90% irradication. Compression beyond 2 weeks will not improve the results. These fine veins are not associated with venous reflux disease in the vast majority of patients.

Filler material rarely appears as dots although that is possible. Massage of lip may help. Injecting hyaluronidase would dissolve then if they persist. I would also be concerned about herpes simplex of the lip, especially in a patient prone to cold sores.I short course of antiviral medicine acyclovir pills and ointment would be indicated.

I agree with using preventative antibiotics after the needle aspiration. The skin is covered with bacteria, even super bug MRSA. Your reconstructed breast is very high risk for infection with a huge foreign body (the implant) and tissue with poor blood circulation (due to radiation). It may take 5 days to get back the culture report.If Augmentin does not agree with you, Keflex is fine. I prefer Bactrim DS because it is effective against MRSA which is widespread.

It is true that implants can lift sagging breasts…. to a certain degree. Try the pencil test: Put a pencil in the fold under your breasts. If they stay there you will need a breast lift to correct the “drop.” If the pencil falls out, an implant may give the lift you desire. D cup breasts can be augmented to DD in large framed, tall women. I would not recommend this approach to petite or medium build women,as it wound make them too top heavy.

Flying after breast augmentation poses no medical risk. The implants will expand moderately at high altitude and contract when landing…. like that water you carried on board in its plastic bottle. Yes, there may be discomfort from this process which will be felt more acutely in the first week or two post augmentation. 800 mg of ibuprofen (Advil) taken every 6 hours should make you comfortable on your flight.If possible, wait a couple weeks after surgery to fly.
