After earning his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison Medical School, Dr. Geldner enrolled in the general surgery residency program at the University of Chicago, and later began his plastic surgery residency at the same institution. He went on to complete his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Wayne State University in Detroit and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He returned to Chicago to hone his skills at Michael Reese Hospital, where he ultimately served as the Chief of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Geldner holds the position of assistant clinical professor in the department of surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago and clinical instructor at the University of Chicago, department of surgery, section of plastic surgery.
