Our patient cracked his front upper right central incisor. He had not had a cleaning for over 1 year. He was satisfied with the shape, size and color of all his teeth and did not want any other enhancements aside from repairing the fractured tooth. This was going to be challenging due to all the detailed features and surface characteristics seen on the adjacent central which I had to replicate in the composite bonding. These included bluish-grey and lavender tints, translucency, small fine white spots and the presence of mammelons or curvatures on his tooth edge. We set him up for a good thorough cleaning to eliminate all the plaque and to make sure the composite bonding was going on a clean surface. We then brought him back and I "mirror-imaged" his tooth to the best of my ability. We ended up getting a really nice result and the patient was ecstatic.
