What is the main difference between Emax veneers, CEREC, Vita Suprinity and Celtra Duo? I’m lo
Other Factors
Feb 24, 2019
There are other factors besides material selection, although it is very important. Tooth position, alignment, extent of overbite and presence of tooth wear and grinding are significant factors as well. I would suggest having a diagnostic waxup or prototype model of your outcome which takes into account contours and how your teeth fit together when you bite and grind in order to minimize collisions and chipping long term. This way you can also…
My teeth are too short, uneven and I have a gummy smile. What can I do about it?
Facial Analysis
Feb 24, 2019
I would recommend for a skilled and knowledgeable dentist to provide a facial analysis to first come up with a proper diagnosis so that you understand the root of the problem. Other than having a hyperactive lip, you may have something called vertical maxillary excess which can be determined by measuring the upper, middle and lower thirds of your face. If the lower third is greater than the middle third, you can have excessive gum display. This can be treated by jaw…
How do I fix an overbite and crooked gummy smile without surgery?
Orthodontics
Feb 24, 2019
I would definitely consider orthodontics to get the teeth in proper position and alignment while also addressing your deep bite. Your dentist should also perform a facial analysis to determine your lip length and lip mobility. If you have a hypermobile lip you can have excessive gum display when you smile. Botox treatment can help improve this also.
If my veneers were not done properly, meaning there was a slight gap between the veneer and gu
Possible
Feb 24, 2019
It is unlikely, but yes it is possible depending on how long ago the veneers were done and your home care routine and brushing technique. If you are not brushing well at the gumline, debris and plaque can remain and cause decay. Keep in mind however that cavities do not develop overnight, it takes time.
Severe daily jaw pain for life after veneers?
Temporaries
Feb 23, 2019
Did you have any pain or discomfort with the temporaries? I would have your bite checked again, there should be even and simultaneous contacts when you bite. Also check the contacts between the teeth to make sure all the residual cement was cleaned out.
Where to adjust the temporary veneers? Need opinions please.
Shorten
Feb 23, 2019
From these views the upper left central incisor looks a little longer. Keep in mind, rounded corners give a more feminine appearance, while square edges give a more masculine appearance. The lateral incisors (next to the 2 centrals) should be ever so slightly set back behind the centrals to give a more natural look.
How can I turn my smile into a hollywood smile?
Hollywood
Feb 23, 2019
To achieve a Hollywood smile, I would consider veneers and you can very likely get away with minimal or “no-prep” veneers since your teeth are in relatively good alignment. You could also go 1 shade lighter from a B1 to OM3. If your teeth have shifted, I would consider a permanent upper and lower fixed lingual retainer (wire), as well a nightly removable appliance to help keep the alignment and prevent chipping and wear.
